DVDO AIR Wireless HD Connection System: Totally Interference Free

Introduction of DVDO Air Wireless HD system

This wireless DVDO AIR system works to transfer full, uncompressed HD signal to any HD display device, so you can watch 1080p movies and enjoy full 7.1 channel surround sound wirelessly. Unlike other wireless HDMI streaming devices DVDO Air wireless HD connection system works under The Wireless HD (also called WiHD) standard, which runs on 60 GHZ realm instead of the normally crowded 5 GHZ. This kit supports full HD video and uncompressed PCM audio. No complex installation is needed to make this DVDO AIR wireless HD kit to function. Just connect the short bridge HDMI cable between the transmitter and receiver with the outlet of the source device and input of the display device respectively. Power all things up, and it should auto-sync and be prepared to give you the glorious 1080p video and wonderful surrounding sound. It is designed with range of approximately 30 feet with direct line of sights.DVDO_air_wireless_HDMI_receiver_and_receiver

Unique Outline Design of DVDO Air System

DVDO AIR has the most interesting-looking outline design in this category. The receiver and transmitter seem like minimized cylindrical speakers. The receiver is a little smaller than the transmitter. Determined to work in one room DVDO AIR choose a fairly common interface arrangement one HDMI input with the transmitter module while one HDMI out with the receiver module. Some other kits for the same purpose have already featured 2 or more inputs to keep up with the increasing number of HD source devices owning by new families. They usually adapt WHDI to send a signal to more than one room. One wireless connection is not enough for a family but barely acceptable  for one room nowadays. This shortage of HDMI shifting may hesitate  potential customer with a big house. (I brought this kit to transfer HD signal processed through a one AV receiver to my projector, so one HDMI slot is enough for me).

Maybe I am too criticized about a wireless product. What I believed to be inconvenient is the method of powering the receiver unit. We are used to the AC power for a transmitter and knew it needs more current (transmitting drains more power than receiving). But why a receiver module needs an extra A/C outlet instead of been supplied by USB, which would provide an even simpler way and more elegant design For many new HD products shipping with USB connections (like Xbox and Blu-ray players) According to my manual the AC is 5V 1A. Stability and robustness of the power may be part of the reason why DVDO choose a A/C power.

Advantage and Disadvantage of  wireless HD 60 GHZ

wireless_HD_60_GHZ The Wireless HD 60 GHz technology’s main promising characteristic will be interference free. There’s no chance DVDO will interfere with or get flustered by your Wi-Fi or cordless phones. Because these devices use 2.4GHZ and/or 5 GHZ to steam digital or analog data. With DVDO AIR, your home will be in wireless harmony. The other thing Wireless HD better than WHDI is the outstanding theoretical transmitting rates, namely 5GB. The corresponding index of WHDI is 3GB. Of the feature, it supports everything up to 1080p, including 3D and will easily support 4K solution in the future. So you do not need to upgrade your device so frequently.

wireless_HD_logo Wireless HD is not a perfect standard. It has an obvious weakness, the short waves. These waves are very likely to be blocked by high density stuffs and they will reflex on smooth surfaces. By just standing on the direct line between the transmitter and the receiver you can obviously affect the signal quality. If the transmitter and receiver can see each other, they will cooperate happily. So Wireless HD is merely an in-room solution. If you want wireless HDMI transmitter and receiver work separately in different rooms or floors this does not constitute an ideal choice. WHDI device is something you are trying to reach.
